​LinkedIn with over 467 million active users is one of the older and more popular professional networking sites globally. Its rich database of professionals across the board right from senior management to entry level professionals across sectors makes it an extremely attractive platform for marketers. In this post I would specifically talk about the LinkedIn autofill tool that can be used for Lead generation. Lead generation is a common mode of generating new business for marketers. One of the challenges in lead generation is inaccurate data, quality of leads and the drop-off rate on landing pages. 
​If you want to collect more information about your prospects, you’ll typically want to have more fields but that means fewer users completing your lead form leading to higher cost per lead.

A lot of research has gone into the number of fields in a landing page form. Typically if you have more fields in the landing page, it will lead to higher quality leads but fewer leads. If your landing page form is small, it will have higher leads & conversions but lower quality.

​How to implement LinkedIn Autofill?

LinkedIn Autofill can be implemented in 3 simple steps
  1. First go to the LinkedIn autofill page Plugin Generator. You can use the form on the page to match your own form fields. The LinkedIn Autofill plugin generator can be found here -  https://developer.linkedin.com/plugins/autofill 
  2. Then send your LinkedIn representative a list of domains and subdomains where you’ll be placing the LinkedIn Autofill code.  To whitelist your domains, do include "http", "https", and "www" in your domain and subdomain URLs.
  3. Add the AutoFill code to all your landing pages. The AutoFill code is simple piece of code that can be easily added.
