Do you hate your friends who are experts at Digital Marketing or make a living out of it? There are some qualities about Digital Marketing professionals that makes it almost impossible for me to not hate them.
Mr/Ms Know it all. Huh!
If you happen to be in the company of a Digital Marketing expert, it is highly possible that they already know the coolest thing that you are about to say. Given that most of them are up to date with the help of the Twitter timelines and other viral apps, they end up being like the Wikipedia of “All cool things happening now”.
Big deal if you are good with numbers!
I know that Digital Marketing is about numbers. They spend so much time around numbers that every argument of mine gets appended/countered with the latest statistic that they know. The other day, I ended up saying, that Facebook is boring and guess what the reply was - Yup, the number of posts created per day have reduced by 23%. Big ...in Deal!
My Facebook posts don’t end up getting as many like as a poorly done selfie of a Digital Marketing expert. Nobody even reads my blog posts. But these smart folks end up getting all the attention.Their work in the company gets talked about more and even the CEO recognizes them. I’m so jealous.
Appraisals and Promotions
My friends who work in the Digital Marketing domain end up getting promoted more quickly and I’ve seen them rise faster than anyone else. It seems unfair on people like me who don’t know Digital Marketing.
I know you make more but, but is Money everything?
They end up making more money almost 30% - 40% more than their peers. I know that they don’t do it for money and most of the Digital Marketeers I know are passionate about their work. But is it fair for them to earn more money just because they know Digital Marketing?
